This privacy policy applies to the Web site owned and operated by OurTownZip, LLC (“Ourtownzip.com”, “we” or “us”) located at http://www.ourtownzip.com/ (the “Site”). The Policy is designed to tell you how we collect and use personal information (as defined below) so you can make an informed decision about using our Site. Please read this statement before using our Site or submitting any personal information to us. By using our Site, you consent to the information collection and use practices described herein. We reserve the right to change the provisions of this privacy policy at any time by posting a revised privacy policy on the Site and indicating on the privacy policy the date it was last updated. Your use of the Site following the posting of such changes or revised statement shall constitute your acceptance of any such changes. What is “Personal Information”?

As used herein, the term “personal information” generally means information that specifically identifies an individual (such as user’s name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, credit card or other account number) or that is associated with an identifiable person (such as demographic information or information about a person’s activities when such information is linked to personally identifying information). Personal information does not include “aggregate” information, which is data we collect about the use of the Site or categories of Site users, from which any personal information has been removed. For example, information that forty-six percent of the Site’s registered users identify themselves as male, is aggregate information. We collect aggregate data for a number of purposes, including to help us understand trends and user needs so that we can better consider new publications, products and services, and tailor existing publications, products and services to user desires. This policy in no way limits or restricts our collection of aggregate information.

Data Collection and Storage

Merchants:

During the registration and OurTownZip storefront creation process, we collect account information including user name and password and contact information such as name, email and telephone number. Each of these different types of information is used to provide the OurTownZip service. Registration information is used to authenticate merchants, and contact information is used both for service-related communication and as an integral component of the application. In some cases, Merchants’ contact information will be sent to third party syndication partners who have subscribed to your deals.

All user information contained within the application will remain your property. We will continue to make that data available to you as long as you are a user. If at some point OurTownZip sells all or a portion of its assets, or merges with another entity, user information is an asset that may be transferred or acquired by a third party. We will notify all affected users of any such transaction, and users will have the opportunity to retrieve their user information and cease usage of the service. After such a transaction, the third party that becomes the custodian of the user information would have the right to continue using the user information solely as set forth in this policy.

Users:

We do not collect any personal information from mere visitors to the Site.

As is true of most web sites, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes, but is not limited to, internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider, referring and exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and click stream data. We use this information, which does not identify individual users, to analyze trends to administer the site to track users' movements around the site and gather demographic information about our user base as a whole.

All collected information is stored in our database, and, even after deletion, may be archived.

Syndication and Links to Third Party Sites

OurTownZip, or others who use our service, may transfer listing information and/or provide links to third party web sites, which may have different privacy practices. We make no representations or warranties about the policies and practices of sites that are linked to by OurTownZip or its users. We urge you to consult the policies available on those sites to further understand your rights. OurTownZip will never sell, rent or share your personal information with any third parties for marketing purposes without your express permission.

Security

Ourtownzip.com endeavors to secure your personal information from unauthorized access, use or disclosure by putting into place physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard the information we collect through this Site. Additionally, your account information is accessible online only through the use of a password. Please be aware, however, that despite our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable. To protect the confidentiality of your personal information, you must keep your password confidential and not disclose it to any other person. You are responsible for all uses of the Site by any person using your password. Please advise us immediately by emailing us at support@ourtownzip.com if you believe your password has been misused. You should also note that email is not secure, and you should not send any confidential or sensitive information to us via an unsecured email.

OurTownZip uses cookies to assist in delivering the service and to provide a personalized user experience. Our persistent and session ID cookies are used to identify unique visitors to our sites and to provide you with easy access to your files.
